Students and lecturers from Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah conducted an educational visit to the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC), located along Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. The visit aimed to provide students with greater exposure to the tourism industry and to enhance their understanding of MaTiC’s role as a one-stop tourism information centre and a hub for arts and cultural promotion in Malaysia. During the session, participants were briefed on the history of MaTiC, including the background of its heritage building and its significance as one of Kuala Lumpur’s notable tourism landmarks.

In addition, the students and lecturers were introduced to the various facilities available at MaTiC, such as the gallery spaces, auditorium, tourism information counter, and areas dedicated to exhibitions and local craft sales. They were also given insights into the retail outlets operating within the building and how MaTiC supports local entrepreneurs while promoting Malaysian tourism products to both domestic and international visitors. It is hoped that this visit provided valuable knowledge and practical exposure to the students, while strengthening collaboration between educational institutions and the tourism industry in Malaysia.
