16 September 2023 | Official Launch of the ASEAN–Japan Celebrations 2023 in Commemoration of the 50th Year of ASEAN–Japan Friendship & Cooperation

The Official Launch of the ASEAN–Japan Celebrations 2023, held in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN–Japan Friendship and Cooperation, took place successfully in a meaningful and symbolic atmosphere. The ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Mohd Zamri bin Mat Zain, Deputy Secretary General (Tourism), and was accompanied by Encik Ahmad Alsraf bin Ahmad Mokhtar, Director of Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC).

This celebration marks five decades of close relations between ASEAN member states and Japan, encompassing strategic cooperation across various sectors including tourism, economy, education, culture, and sustainable development. The strong partnership continues to be strengthened through various initiatives and exchange programmes that benefit the people of both sides.

The organisation of this event not only commemorates a long-standing friendship but also serves as a platform to further enhance regional collaboration, in line with the shared aspiration of building a more progressive, inclusive, and resilient future.
